Job Summary:
We are seeking a Road & Bridge Shop Foreman to oversee maintenance operations for road and bridge construction equipment. The ideal candidate will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, schedule repair and maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Experience with managing CAT and John Deere equipment is preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise a team of mechanics and technicians in the road and bridge maintenance shop.
2. Coordinate repair and maintenance activities for road construction equipment and bridge structures, particularly focusing on CAT and John Deere equipment.
3. Inspect work progress to maintain quality standards and ensure timely completion.
4. Develop and implement maintenance schedules to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
5. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for repair work.
6. Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
7. Provide training and mentorship to enhance the skills and productivity of shop staff.
8. Collaborate with other departments to efficiently coordinate maintenance activities and repairs.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in a related field is a plus.
2. Previous experience as a mechanic or technician in road and bridge maintenance, emphasizing CAT and John Deere equipment.
3. Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills.
5. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
6. Capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Possession of a valid driver's license.
