Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Waste haul Mechanic to join our team. The Waste haul Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing waste collection vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification in diesel technology or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a mechanic, particularly working with heavy-duty vehicles
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance on waste collection vehicles, including changing fluids, inspecting brakes, and replacing parts as needed
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs in a timely manner
- Complete work orders accurately and in a timely fashion
- Perform inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
- Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Physical strength and ability to lift heavy objects
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
